The 2025 Farm Crew
Megan, Founder
Megan started be.wild.er in 2016 having basically no idea what she was doing… With a mixture of fumbling her way through, working hard, and having constant community support in various forms, Megan has kept this little farm chugging along for many years.
Megan has been managing this farm solo since the beginning and began to feel burnt out and ready for a change. During the winter preceding the 2025 season, she accepted a Field Manager position for Grow Pittsburgh at Braddock Farms and made the hard decision to step away from her daily activities at be.wild.er farm. Our current crew decided to keep the farm going with some members taking on various management roles in field production, market and wholesale harvest, and wash-pack. 2025 was a season of exploration, problem solving, and growth for us as a crew and we are continuing to explore what co-ownership or a cooperative model could look like at be.wild.er. Others are getting to experience farm management as Megan gets to continue learning and growing with Grow Pittsburgh .
Crescent, Field Manager, 3rd Season
Crescent is one of the field production co- managers! They are stepping into this role after the past seasons spent on the field production team, getting to know the ecologies, micro-climates & land at the farm. Cresc is a chameleon on the crew, able to fit into and excel at so many roles: swift harvesting, compost schlepping, listening to other crew members with so much heart, setting a calm/intentional vibe to our days - just a few examples. Beyond the veg and crew of be.wild.er, cresc also collaborates with herbs & medicinal plants of all kinds. they love sharing their knowledge, salves, tonics and divine herby bevs with the crew & community. Their seasonal food ways involve weedy wilds from the farm & beyond. While not grooving in plant world, Cresc can be found walking their dog, lookin for mushrooms, dancing, biking with buds, screen printing @contend.chaos.co (they made us a lot of great merch this season), co-conspiring good trouble, finding a creek to dip into, and hanging with their love (resident be.wild.er Sarah)

Marie, Harvest and Wholesale Manager, 5th Season
Repeatedly hailed as the coolest person in Pittsburgh, Marie began her journey with be.wild.er in 2020 through work-trade and quickly became an invaluable member of our team when she joined the crew in 2022. For the 2025 season, Marie took on the role as our wholesale manager - a position that perfectly suits her passion for getting good food to the community.
Marie is the biggest cat lover you’ll ever meet - she’s saved and rehomed countless strays. With her big heart and open mind, she embodies understanding and kindness in all her interactions.

Hilary (Hibs), Market Manager, 6th Season
Hillary leads the crew at the Bloomfield Farmer’s Market! Something super special about Hillary is how she approaches problems with an enthusiastic grin and an array of potential solutions. Hillary has unparalleled spatial reasoning and a serious knack for creating efficient systems. She has done several custom construction projects for be.wild.er—always taking a sustainable and scrappy approach by making quick use of repurposed materials.
Market day often means quickly loading hundreds of pounds of food into a relatively small vehicle. Hillary is a pro at securely stacking our delicate and tasty veg and market supplies in an organized and efficient manner. At market customers can count on Hibs to teach them about the flavors, textures, nutrients, and preparation methods for the food that we grow at bewilder.
Beyond the farm, Hillary has a work background that includes years of caretaking for the herds at Allegheny Goatscape and cleaning up illegal dump sites with Allegheny Cleanways. She can often be found helping her friends and neighbors with construction projects. She also takes time to be creative and make her own artwork! Beyond her own creative pursuits, Hibs also supports other creative folks as an integral member of Pittsburgh’s DIY music and art community. Tirelessly tending to our rust belt ecosystem her community—it is no wonder that Hillary is much beloved by our crew, our customers, and her entire community.
